A novel 1-day course on gait rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis is being held in New Zealand and Australia during 2024, see the page link below for further details.
Recent studies continue to underscore the positive impact of gait rehabilitation, particularly for newly diagnosed individuals, however teaching protocols remain scarce.
Via a combination of lectures, case studies and practical demonstrations, the course covers best practice managing fatigue, neuromuscular fatigue, heat sensitivity, and temporary symptom exacerbation. Participants will gain expertise in setting safe exercise volumes, identification of gait impairments, and the delivery of effective treatment strategies. While MS-focused, the skills learned through this 1-day course can be used in the rehabilitation of other neurologically based gait impairments.
