“Foot drop” or “difficulty to clear the ground” or “my foot catches the ground” can be a common problem for those living with Multiple Sclerosis.  The good news is that there is a lot that can be done to help and improve the situation, the difficult part though is that is quite a complex area and just the case of supplying some form of orthotic to help the foot clear the ground will not always result in a positive outcome.

I was very privileged to be asked to present a short webinar to MS Auckland a couple of months ago. I do my best to try to explain the range of causes of foot drop and most importantly tried to provide some practical advice on of how to treat this issue to maximise walking and function.

Please see the recording below and you can head to MS Auckland to access copies of the presentation slides as well.
