I was asked the other day if there was much evidence to support exercise and MS. Well, I thought I had better do something about sharing this information….. as there is so much evidence to support the positive benefits of exercise and MS. However there is also now an increasing number of papers that are showing the potential disease modifying impacts of exercise on MS. With research showing that exercise can positively impact the central nervous system throughout the trajectory, exercise can also reduce the risk of MS. If exercise is started in the early stages of the disease the long term severity and disability level can be reduced. Combining exercise with the latest disease-modifying medication brings significantly more hope of an improved quality of life for those living with MS.
